TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY
TOPIC:                             COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
TEXT:                    Ps. 103:1-5

A song write wrote, “Count your blessings, name them one by one; count your blessings, see what God had done. Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done”.

This is the last quarter of the year and a most appropriate time to remember all that the Lord did for us since the beginning of the year and of course throughout our life here on earth.

It is very easy to forget the goodness of God because of one need or the other in our lives. It is easy when hills are standing before us to forget the mountains God removed in days gone by. When we forget God’s blessing, the enemy will tempt us to backslide and mote-hills become mountains, while we become like grasshoppers. Ingratitude is not only a sin but a great poison that destroys Faith, Joy, Peace and Hope. 1Cor. 13:13; 1Thess. 5:18,19. David remained unconquerable all his life because he never forgot the past mercies of God while Israel backslides the moment they forgot the God of miracles. 1Sam. 17:30-37; Neh. 9:7-28.

We shall consider three action Sub-topics (1) Remember (2) Rejoice (3) Renew

  1. REMEMBER AND TESTIFY: 1Chr. 16:12; Ps. 105:5; ps. 25:6; Songs S. 1:4; Jer. 2:2; Ps.30:4

Remember Hi, the Holy one, eth Mighty God. Remember His works, His Mercies, His Kindness, His love and His Power during the times of challenges. Look at your life-spirit, soul and body. Look at your family, business, work and academics. Look at our church ministry and see what he has done. Count your blessing and remember all that God has done for us. Deut. 8:18

  1. REJOICE WITH GIVING: Deut. 8:10; Col. 3:15; Col. 1:12; Ps. 9:11; 1Thess. 5:18,19; Heb. 13;15

There is hardly anyone alive who would not have something to thank God for. When we thank God and rejoice, we release God’s Spirit in us to work more for us. God hates ingratitude and judges it severely. Deut 32: 5-8

  1. RENEW YOUR CONSECRATIONS: Rom. 2:4; Eza. 10:9-12; 7:10; Rom. 12:1-3:2; Chr. 15;9-15

As we rejoice before God, the goodness of the Lord should lead us to repentance and rededication particularly as we look forward for new exploits. There should be renewal of our experiences, faith, obedience, zeal, commitment, love, evangelism, care, service to God and humanity. All the Goliath’s standing before you will fall in Jesus Names.
